Hanwha Techwin Announces Two New AI-based Dual Channel Multi-sensor Cameras

Introduces powerful AI-based object detection and image enhancement to multi-sensor cameras

Teaneck, NJ, March 10, 2022 – At ISC West 2022, in booth #14079, Hanwha Techwin America, a global supplier of IP and analog video surveillance solutions, will unveil two new AI-powered dual channel multi-sensor cameras featuring powerful deep-learning based object detection and classification, and license-free video and audio analytics.

The PNM-C12083RVD supports 15fps image capture and true 120dB WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) without compromising the frame rate for each of its 6MP sensors. Motorized vari-focal lenses offer a focal range of 3.54–6.69mm for flexible field of view adjustment in each direction. Similarly, the new PNM-C7083RVD supports 30fps with 120dB WDR for each of its 2MP sensors. The camera’s motorized vari-focal lenses support a range of 3.0–6.0mm.

The new multi-directional AI cameras’ deep-learning algorithms can reliably identify multiple distinct objects. They can detect and classify people, vehicles, faces, and license plates in real time, greatly enhancing video analytics accuracy. False alarms due to non-interesting motion, like wind-blown trees, shadows, or animals are significantly reduced.

“With AI, analytics become a reliable source of events to the operators helping them know where to look for important real-time events” said Ramy Ayad, Director of Product Management, Hanwha Techwin America. “Bringing AI technology to multi-sensor cameras provides tremendous value and installing efficiency for our partners and their customers.”

Camera generated metadata (person, face, vehicle, license plate) is embedded in the video allowing a compatible VMS to use the data for highly efficient forensic search. The cameras also generate BestShot (a frame containing the object detected) which can be displayed during in forensic search results to assist the operator in making a quick selection.

AI-based Image Enhancements

AI also plays an important role in image quality for each channel. WiseNR II noise reduction is a new enhancement which utilizes AI to identify object movement and reduce blur in noisy, low light environments. AI-based Preferred Shutter technology automatically adjusts the shutter speed based on classified objects in motion and the lighting conditions in a scene to reduce motion blur and deliver the clearest images possible.

AI-based Bandwidth Reduction with WiseStream III

By utilizing the results of AI-based object detection on each sensor, WiseStream III technology adjusts the video encoder to focus maximum video quality on the detected objects in a scene while scaling back encoding on the rest of the scene. When combined with H.265 compression technology, this user-adjustable feature can provide data reduction of up to 80% depending on the environment.

The new AI-powered multi-sensor cameras will be available for order at ISC West 2022.
